Places to eat in the Yorkshire DalesWe have enjoyed some fabulous food in the Yorkshire Dales and would like to share a few of our recommendations,

The Bridge Inn at Grinton- approx 15 mins walk from the cottage.  Lovely home made food with a great welcome and atmosphere.  Great to sit next to the fire in winter or tables outside in the summer.

The Punch Bowl at Low Row and the CB Inn at Arkengarthdale are both owned by the same people, the food is great and the views wonderful.  It probably take around 10-15 mins to get there by car.

There are three pubs in Reeth, we like The Kings Arms the best as it has a great open fireplace that we like to snuggle round when we can.  The food is typical pub food, lasagnes, curry, gammon etc which we've enjoyed.  The Buck in Reeth also provides a pizza take away service, having recently bought a wood fired oven- great for an easy tea after a long day walking.

We went for Sunday lunch on the way home at The Sandpiper Inn at Leyburn, gorgeous gravy and yorkshire puddings with melt in the mouth roast beef... highly recommend.

It sounds like all we do is eat when we're staying at the cottage, but it's good to try different places so we're able to recommend!!!! The Blue Lion at East Witton is a fabulous place, great atmosphere and food, quite expensive but as a treat lovely.

There are also some lovely tea rooms to be sampled!  Overton House in Reeth is great, all homemade food.  The owners live locally and nothing is too much trouble for them.  We sometimes treat ourselves to breakfast in there.  The tea rooms at Muker is another heavenly place, great pieces of chocolate cake and steaming cups of cocoa. More gems include Castle Bolton tearooms situated in the medieval hall, The Coppice tearooms at Aysgarth Falls, Richmond Station Bistro,The Bike Centre at Grinton to mention a few. You could try them all, we did!!!!!
